Marketplace Seller Payout Calculator

A marketplace seller payout calculator starts with gross sales, subtracts refunds, applies manual credits or deductions, then calculates the platform fee and reserve hold. The remaining amount is the seller payable before money moves. This preview also shows which transaction, refund, adjustment, fee, and reserve evidence to retain.

Calculation method

Marketplace seller payout formula

Gross sales
Seller count × orders per seller × average order value
Refunds
Gross sales × refund rate
Adjusted sales
max(0, gross sales − refunds + manual adjustments)
Platform fee
Adjusted sales × platform fee rate
Reserve hold
max(0, adjusted sales − platform fee) × reserve rate
Seller payable
max(0, adjusted sales − platform fee − reserve hold)

Worked calculation

Synthetic example — not customer data

Ten sellers each generate 20 orders with a $50 average order value, producing $10,000 in gross sales. A 4% refund rate removes $400. A 12% platform fee on the remaining $9,600 is $1,152. A 2% post-fee reserve is $168.96. Seller payable is $8,279.04.

This example uses $0 in manual adjustments.

Limitations

What this calculator does not model

This calculator models one aggregated USD scenario. It does not apply seller-specific contracts, taxes, currency conversion, identity mapping, or payment execution. Verify contractual fee and reserve ordering before approving a real close.

Review evidence

What evidence should stay with the estimate?

Keep the source transaction and seller identifier for gross sales, the original-order reference for refunds, the reason and approval for adjustments, the fee and reserve policy applied, and the reviewed statement total. After payment execution, reconcile that expected obligation with the external confirmation and investigate any residual.

This calculator estimates one close. Allocora governs the repeatable workflow.

Marketplace payouts need more than math. Allocora turns source rows, seller rules, locked calculation runs, statements, reconciliation context, and export evidence into a self-serve workflow your team can repeat every close.
